Playtime
Woke up this morning from 4:30am-6:30am for Lily's "playtime." I suppose it's training for the real deal. She seems to like to be awake from 5am-6:30am. I wonder if we've trained her to do that because WE wake up at 5am and then I go back to bed at 6:30am for a little while. Then she wakes up again anywhere from 9:30-10:30am. And then I can be awake all day and stay busy and I won't hear a PEEP from her. As soon as we eat dinner and I relax for awhile, that's when she wants to play again. Don't let me fool you! I think it's the cutest thing in the world! For now....

Glucose Screening
I had my glucose screening last Wednesday and I got a call from the midwives yesterday telling me that my screening came back abnormal. I'm going to have to take the three hour test on the Wednesday coming up. I'm a little worried about this because I've been determined to have a natural birth. I don't know how possible that will be if I have gestational diabetes. I have been feeling really strange lately, even a few days before my glucose screening. It's as if the energy that is supposed to be coming from my food never leaves my stomach. My stomach can only hold so much, so I basically have to go around feeling weak. I wonder if this is a normal side effect of just being in the third trimester.

27 Weeks 1 Day
I'm feeling her kicks more and more. She seems to prefer to kick me in the ribs on my right side more than anywhere else, and it sort of feels weird now. I can see how this will start to become very uncomfortable pretty soon.
Next week I have an appointment to have the glucose screening. Hopefully I pass.
Robbie and I attended our very first Childbirth Education class and we are super excited to be able to start preparing for the birth of our baby.
I have a baby shower to attend on March 20th, and I can't wait to see all the cute baby things that Lilian is going to get.
I found a few patterns online for crocheting diaper covers so I can pass the time. Somehow the first one I made came out really big.
This looks like it would fit a really big baby! I made another one from another diaper cover pattern I found, and it might be too small. Maybe not though. It's going to be hard to know what size I'll need until she gets here, but by then, I won't have time to make any of these. I suppose I can just make a whole bunch in different sizes.
This is all I've made so far. This last one frustrated me a little because the yarn wasn't working the way I would have liked. I think I like the pattern of the second one better because it is a little easier, and I feel like I have more control of the size.

23 Weeks 1 Day
Today I made 23 weeks. I do not have any news, but I just felt like thinking about her. I think about her constantly and wonder what she's doing in there while I'm out here shopping, taking kitties to the vet, running errands, etc.
I've decided to give soy milk a try because I've heard that it makes for a less colicky baby after I start breastfeeding. I wanted to see if I could even stand it, and it's not terrible. I've never really felt that great after drinking regular milk, even the 2%, so I wanted to see how this felt. I feel a little better, and it feels smoother while I drink it. I still don't feel perfectly great after drinking it, but it doesn't upset my stomach as much. The vanilla kind tastes WAY better than regular milk.
I love how sweet Robbie is about her. He loves her little name and he likes to talk to her when he gets in from work. Before we go to bed he'll kiss my belly sometimes. I can't wait until he can really feel her kicking. He was able to feel her a little on Sunday during church, but it seems like if either of us try to feel it from the outside, she quits.
I woke up in the middle of the night to use the restroom and I noticed this little pattern in my belly. I've never felt her in the middle of the night like that, so I think it might have been hiccups. I've never really paid attention that much, but I think I've felt her have hiccups before. She'll definitely take after Daddy if she gets hiccups a lot-he gets them every day!!!!

22 Weeks 1 Day
I enjoy feeling the little baby kicks, but they sometimes seem a little weird! It feels kind of like a muscle twitch that I can't rub out. She gets a little shy when she notices me trying to feel her from the outside, and she generally stops kicking when Robbie tries to touch my belly. Poor Robbie! But she does it to me too. She seems to be active at around the same times of day, and she REALLY likes it when I eat certain foods. Either she likes it or she's saying, "Too much! Stop!"
So far I haven't had any random strangers try to come up and rub my belly thank goodness. The only ones that have touched my belly at all are my mom and of course Robbie. I think I'm showing just enough to where people are not quite comfortable asking me if I'm pregnant. I don't think they want to take a chance in offending me! Robbie says I should say NO! if someone asks me if I'm pregnant to make them feel bad. I haven't had the heart to do that yet.
I've signed us up for a childbirth education class that starts March 1st. I'm really excited about it, and I cannot wait. I still don't feel quite like I'm pregnant. The midwives have told me this is a really quiet part of the pregnancy, and I am very thankful for that. I think I had a little too much worry to deal with during my first trimester, and I am happy to report that so far the second trimester has been pretty uneventful. Except for the baby kicks of course!

21 Weeks 1 Day-It's a girl!!!
Robbie and I went for our big appointment with the midwives to have the 20 week ultrasound done. We are happy to share that our little one is a girl, and her name is Lilian Nicole. We'll call her Lily for short...sometimes. We already just love this little baby and we haven't even met her yet! We know she's the cutest little thing already, and she's a sweetheart! I'm sharing my middle name with her, and I might just share my birthday too! The due date is June 2nd, but she was measuring just a little big. She might be born on my birthday, May 31st. How funny would that be?
